Enjoying Autumn

Tue Oct 14, 2008, 8:00 AM
Well Dragon Con was a lot of fun! I met :iconmeglyman: and :iconpropmedic: which was cool. I totally forgot to scan the awesome painting :iconmeglyman: did for me until just this moment... Sorry :iconmeglyman: , I'll send it to you! We saw a lot of cool costumes at the con including a bazillion Team Fortress costumes. I also met William Stout who is an amazing dinosaur artist. What an experience!

I also found out about the comic Red Moon and met one of the people involved. It looks really amazing! Check out their website - [link]

If anyone's considering going but hasn't yet, I suggest going! It's nerd heaven.

I'm working on comic stuff right now... More info later! Or contact me if you want to be in the loop!

I've always wanted to go to one of the big comic cons but I'm always broke. :P One year I will be there! Glad to hear it was fun. Did you have a costume?

The cool thing about Dragon Con is that it's not exactly a "comic" con. It's like a general "nerd convention!" They have stuff from nerdy TV shows, movies, video games, sci fi and fantasy novels, comics, fantasy and sci fi artwork, nerdy music, science and skepticism, and a bunch of other stuff that I'm probably forgetting. It was cool because we could go to a Klingon beauty pagent, and then go to a panel on classic Lovecraft fiction.

But no I didn't have a costume! I don't know what I would've dressed up as.

Oh my god that makes me want to go even more. I am a GIANT nerd of all nerd-doms... that sounds like Mecca. :D

I've never dressed up for a con either. Partially because I am ass at making costumes and partially because I just don't know who to go as. I've wanted to make a President Roslin outfit for, um, as long as Battlestar's been on the air but I'm always afraid no one will get it. :P

You would like it especially if you have a wide variety of nerd interests. The thing with me is I like a wide variety of things so any one type of con is too narrow for me... that's what I really liked the most about Dragon Con. My only complaint about Dragon Con was that there was TOO MUCH to do it all!

Yeah! The anime cons or whatever I've attended, somehow they're always running panels or series or whatnot that I want to see at the SAME TIME! It's hard picking one. :P

Well I'm going to try to get to Dragon Con someday. One of my friends here has always wanted to attend as well... maybe we'll make it next year!
